About Our Farm

Couillon Cluckers Farm began in a small urban backyard in Baton Rouge with one laying hen (appropriately named Henrietta) in 2019. Rapidly, one hen became a few and a few chickens became several dozen, one coop became five, and then some ducks found their way into the mix. Two years later it was decision time. Tired of over three decades of city living and wishing to return to our country roots from childhood, we established our "dream farm" in rural Livingston Parish, Louisiana in the Spring of 2021. Here we have not only our home but also a 2,000+ sq. ft. specialty poultry barn constructed of rough-cut pine milled on site from trees on our property, a large pole barn with a workshop and areas for tractors and storage, a large enclosed metal barn for hay and dry storage, a small goat barn complete with fenced area, a fenced area and weather enclosure for our miniature Juliana pigs, and a two-acre fenced pasture for small livestock. Our farm also has several open pasture areas, wooded areas with walking and riding trails, a vegetable garden, fruit and nut trees, and a three-acre deep pond stocked with bass, sac-a-lait, catfish, bream, and perch. Colyell Creek and Antioch Creek cross and border part of our property and add to its rural ambiance. We are surrounded on three sides by over 2,000 acres of privately managed forest. For us and for our animals -- both those we keep and the deer and other wildlife who visit us daily -- this is Heaven on Earth. We invite you to visit Couillon Cluckers Farm to learn about the hobby farm lifestyle, allow us to host your party or event, and simply enjoy our little country oasis.
